Case Settled During Trial

I just settled a case where the visible damage to my client’s truck did not appear large. However he suffered a serious back injury and I was able to force the other driver’s insurance company to pay a substantial sum of money (the exact amount must remain confidential). My client was thrilled with the settlement.

That reminded me that State Farm has tips on its web site for its policyholders who are involved in a visibly low damage vehicle crash. I slightly modified them as follows:

1. Don’t assume there aren’t injuries to you or your passengers. Do see a doctor who treats auto crash injuries as soon as possible; and

2. Discuss your options with an attorney who is experienced in personal injury law.
