Wynonna Judd’s husband loses leg in motorcycle crash

Here’s a grusome celebrity story: Michael “Cactus” Moser was riding a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 16 in the Black Hills of South Dakota on Saturday when he crossed the center line and hit a car.

He was airlifted to a hospital, where doctors amputated his leg above his knee. Moser also had surgery on his hand.

Cactus is a resident of Nashville and is the drummer in the country singer’s band.

Wynonna is postponing scheduled concerts in Canada and her future touring is uncertain. We have tickets to see her sing at the Bass Hall in a few months and my wife saw her sing there a few years ago – said it was one of the best concerts she had even gone to.

As a fan of Wynonna (and her mother) and an attorney who has represented many motorcycle riders who have suffered serious injuries in motorcycle crashes in Texas, this story really got me. And I was just in that area in June. I drove (a car) through Sturgis before running a marathon that ended in Deadwood. And you may know that I’m from Nashville and I was country before country was cool. 🙂

I hope and pray that Cactus can recover from this horrible wreck. Watching Oscar Pastorius run in the finals of the Olympics — and see the courage of some of my clients — makes me realize that anything is possible.
