DFW DWI Collision Kills 4th Texas Police Officer This Year

A drunk driver — already convicted of DWI a few years ago — crashed his SUV without head lights on into Officer Josh Williams’ patrol car in Waxahachie, tragically killing him. Officer Williams was born and raised in Fort Worth and his parents live here. He had been married for 25 years and was a devoted father of three girls. As someone celebrating his 24th anniversary later this month and a father — not to mention someone who hates drunk drivers — this story really upset me.

And worse, three other local police officers or fire fighters have been killed or injured in our area just in the past two weeks! Texas had about 3,000 of the 10,000 — a whopping 30% — of the alcohol-related fatality crashes in the U. S. last year!

And thousands of other Texans are injured due to crashes caused by drunk or stoned drivers. I know because I represent many people hurt in them.

On Friday I forced a drunk driver’s insurance carrier to pay his maximum available policy limits of $50,000.00 each to two young people, and now I’m fighting to get them more money from UIM coverage. Also, I’ve reduced the man’s hospital bill by 50%, slashed other medical bills, and helped this lovely couple obtain other money.

I was pleased that they said they were “thrilled” with these results and that they would recommend me to any one they knew. And I’m glad my other clients agree. Here’s their reviews if you’re trying to decide which Fort Worth Dallas injury attorney to hire.

I’ve handled Fort Worth and Dallas DWI collision cases for over 32 years. I know the horrible physical and emotional damage caused by people who drink/use drugs and drive. If you’ve been hurt in a drunk driving accident, you want a lawyer who understands your needs and can fight to get you what you want.

Edited: I just got off the phone (at 6:45 on a Friday night) with a wonderful client of mine named T___ Martinez who got hit by a drunk driver and was delighted to hear her reaction to how much money I was getting for her so I jotted this down:

Mr. Berenson, you’ve done a really, really good job on my case
