During this catastrophic pandemic, millions of people have lost their jobs. Now many Texans don’t have enough money to buy food for themselves and their families.
Sadly, several of our clients have contracted the virus. Others have told us they can’t even apply for unemployment benefits due to the crush of new applicants.
Mr. Berenson has donated 1,000 meals which will be delivered by Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County.
This wonderful non-profit organization has an amazing group of volunteers which cooks and delivers nutritious food to disadvantaged and elderly people. They don’t have the financial resources to pay for food, let alone a vehicle to drive to a grocery store or pharmacy. And now, many are now more susceptible to getting the virus and possibly dying.
All must be lonelier than ever as we practice social distancing. Most live alone. Sometimes the delivery of food is their only contact with someone else.
Mr. Berenson has supported Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County in the past, most recently at Christmas. He and his wife have also delivered meals for them.
The group also provides emotional support, helps take sick people to doctors, and performs well-being checkups. Its work is more important now than ever before.
And thank you to other fine organizations like this church in Burleson and our area grocers which gave out a staggering 65 tons of food yesterday on Easter. Talk about doing the Lord’s work! But it is incredibly sad that two miles of vehicles were lined up.
Even before the pandemic, it is appalling that our state had the fourth highest number of people who go to bed hungry every night.
Due to this unprecedented crisis, we are working harder than ever to get our clients the money they deserve after their car, truck, and 18-wheeler collisions.
Mr. Berenson has enjoyed practicing personal injury law in Fort Worth for the past 40 years and is always trying to give back to the community he loves.
